Compressionism

Interactive Installation, Academy of Art University, 2004
As a group, we were determined to create an experience with which user interactions became a part of the artwork, causing each viewer to have an individualized experience based on their actions. The video, audio and atmosphere reacted to the user within the space.
Footage was captured in real-time and edited into our pre-made footage on its own... audio was generated based on movements and gestures, and the ambiance reflected activity within the space. What we aimed to define in all of this was the "automation beneath abstraction".
We were all very honored to have to have recieved the Academy of Art University's Spring Show: Best of Show 2004 award for this installation.
